With our eyes set on bouncing back after our first setback of WPL 2025, we took the field against UP Warriorz with renewed determination. A thrilling contest awaited, and we were ready to make it count!

The Warriorz came out swinging after being invited to bat first. Still, our Aussie duo of Annabel Sutherland and Jess Jonassen stepped up in style, striking early to slow their momentum. Three quick wickets later, we had a firm grip on the game, ensuring the opposition didn’t run away with it.

The moment of the night? Sarah Bryce! Making her presence felt behind the stumps, she pulled off two sharp stumpings—her first in the WPL—to add to the pressure on UP Warriorz.

The fightback was real, and after 20 intense overs, we managed to restrict them to a manageable total of under 170.

When it was our turn to bat, our openers walked in with a point to prove—and they delivered! A solid 65-run stand set the perfect platform, silencing any doubts about form.

Meg Lanning was once again at her brilliant best, scripting history in the process. Seven was truly the number of the night, as she crossed 750 WPL runs, notched up her seventh WPL fifty, and ended with a total of 777 runs in the tournament. Legendary stuff from our captain!

With the game going down to the wire, Marizanne Kapp and Annabel Sutherland took charge in the final moments. The tension was palpable, but our finishers held their nerve, sealing the win off the penultimate ball! Another last-over thriller, another two points in the bag!

On to the next challenge—because this team thrives in the heat of battle!
