The Delhi Capitals continue their stellar form in TATA IPL 2025, securing their second consecutive victory with a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Sunday, March 30. With this triumph, we conclude our Vizag leg on a high, winning both matches.
Mitchell Starc was the star of the show, who did some early damage in the Powerplay and returned in the death overs to complete his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket. While star spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, delivered yet another brilliant performance, snaring three wickets and reaching the milestone of 50 wickets for the Capitals.
Later, Faf du Plessis led the charge of the run chase with a quickfire half-century, while Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel contributed with crucial knocks.
Earlier in the day, the visiting skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat. In the very first over, Vipraj Nigam's swift reflexes at point resulted in a brilliant run-out, sending Abhishek Sharma back to the pavilion.
Then came Starc into action, striking twice in three deliveries to dismiss Ishan Kishan and Nitish Reddy before snaring Travis Head in his third over. At 37/4, we were in complete control. However, a resilient partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and Aniket Verma slowed our momentum.

Mohit Sharma brought an end to their 77-run stand in the 1th over, dismissing Klaasen for 32. Aniket, however, continued to threaten with his powerful hitting, but a stunning boundary catch by Fraser-McGurk firmly shifted the momentum in our favor.
Starc returned to bowl his final over and added two more to his tally, completing a well-deserved five-fer, returning 5/35. Kuldeep, meanwhile, produced yet another economical performance (3/22) while also picking crucial wickets.
Chasing 164, Faf du Plessis was on the front foot from the outset. Beginning with his first six in the third over off Mohammad Shami, he continued taking advantage of the Powerplay. After contributing 52 runs in the first six overs, his opening partner, Fraser-McGurk, also found his rhythm, keeping us comfortably ahead of the required run rate.

Faf got to his first half-century for the Capitals in just 26 balls as the opening duo forged a solid 81-run partnership. Though both batters fell in the same over, it had little impact on our scoring momentum.
In at No.4, KL Rahul began his DC career with three boundaries off his first three balls. Although his knock didn’t last long, Abishek Porel (38* off 18) and Tristan Stubbs (21* off 14) ensured a swift chase, guiding the team to victory with ease.
The pair registered an unbeaten 51-run partnership as we finished the game with four overs to spare. Abishek finished the game in style, with a massive six over mid-wicket, which rocketed us to second position on the points table.
