The Delhi Capitals continue their pursuit of a playoff berth as they prepare to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, 27 April.
After a minor hiccup in Ahmedabad, we headed to Lucknow for a tricky challenge against the Super Giants and emerged victorious. A clinical performance with the bat and ball helped us breach the LSG fortress successfully.
Continuing the trend of a new player stepping up in every match, Mukesh Kumar delivered a match-winning performance in this encounter. He returned with four wickets, including a terrific spell in the death overs alongside Mitchell Starc. He won his first Player of the Match of this season.
Abishek Porel continued his good form, registering an action-packed half-century. In the company of KL Rahul, Porel scored 51 off 36 balls to give the team a solid start while chasing 160 runs. Skipper Axar Patel walked in at No. 4 and chipped in with a terrific cameo, as the side stormed to the winning line in 17.5 overs.
KL Rahul, who remained unbeaten on 57 off 42 balls, also completed 5,000 runs in TATA IPL, becoming the fastest in the tournament history to get there.
We had a good outing against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru last time in the Garden City, highlighted by a magnificent unbeaten 93 from hometown hero KL Rahul. Tristan Stubbs, Kuldeep Yadav, and Vipraj Nigam also made significant contributions, playing crucial roles in the team's overall performance.
Both teams find themselves in a fairly similar situation, with six wins each. The winners will ascend to the top of the table and could strengthen their chances of finishing in the top two.
